Why Choose Private Christian Education?
Edvance Christian Schools Association explains the difference a Christian education makes.
One of the early, significant decisions parents have to make is how and where to educate their kids. Public, catholic or private school? What about homeschooling? Private Christian education is a significant investment, but there are many benefits worth considering.
Benefits of a Christian education include:
The curriculum aligns with God’s word. Parents can be confident that in all areas of study, the basis of truth is the word of God. Faith and academics are integrated instead of at odds.
Teachers are good role models for kids. Young students absorb not only what is explicitly taught, but also the values and attitudes of their teachers.
Emphasis is on character development. While academics is important, Christian schools also focus on developing godly character.
Students gain knowledge about the Bible and their faith. Christian practices are normalized - prayer, Bible memorization and study, and sharing God’s love in our community and the world. Students also have a safe place to ask questions, to equip them to make their own decisions about life and faith as they grow.
Positive peer influence. Having a group of friends that share their beliefs can help students through transitions later in life.
Sense of community and belonging. Students are viewed not just as one in a crowd, but rather as someone created uniquely in the image of God.
Extracurricular opportunities. In addition to a great academic program, many Christian schools offer arts and athletic programs, as well as leadership development.
